Virtual reality<\/strong> and Augmented Reality (AR)<\/span><\/strong> are two sides of the same coin. Augmented reality<\/strong> simulates artificial objects<\/strong> in the real environment<\/strong>, while virtual reality creates an artificial environment to inhabit.<\/p>

In augmented reality, the computer uses sensors<\/strong> and algorithms<\/a> <\/strong>to determine the position and direction of the camera. Simply put, in augmented reality<\/strong>, part of the information that the user perceives exists in the real world<\/strong> and part is created by the computer.<\/p>

In virtual reality<\/strong>, instead of placing a real camera in a physical environment<\/strong>, the user’s eye position is in the simulated environment<\/strong>. If the user’s head turns, the graphics will react accordingly.<\/p>

Instead of combining the objects of a virtual environment<\/strong> and a real scene, virtual reality technology<\/strong> creates an interactive and so real world for the person that the user is convinced that he is really present in that place.<\/p>

A major difference between the two technologies is that virtual reality<\/strong><\/span> requires its own equipment, but augmented reality<\/strong><\/span> can be provided using simpler tools such as software that can be installed on tablets<\/strong> and smartphones<\/strong> that can add augmented reality features<\/strong>.<\/p>

By installing these softwares<\/strong>, the images are received by the smartphone camera<\/strong> and other sensors such as the microphone<\/strong>, as input to the augmented reality software<\/strong>.<\/p>

Then, the image processing is done and correspondingly, the digital information that can be images<\/strong>, sound<\/strong> or other things are converted into the output that can be presented to the user.
